A CAPPELLA CHOIR - Encore

Encore is ALA's elite choral ensemble.  This small a cappella group performs locally at business venues, service organization luncheons, and recently performed at the Utah State Senate Inaugural Session.  This group performs contemporary music, classical, and theatrical selections. CONCERT CHOIRS

Both Junior and Senior High School Concert Choirs at American Leadership Academy are comprised of 50-90 participants.  The Concert Choirs participate yearly in the Fall Sing, Spirit of Christmas, Region Large Group Festivals, a tour, and The Blast, our end of the year spectacular.

Concert Choir participants perform a wide variety of choral genres from the classics, avent garde, to contemporary.  Students are taught sight-reading, dictation, as well as the basic of choral skills.

The choirs have received various awards over the past few years at national competitions and local and state events.  They have received the “Outstanding Choral Program” at Heritage Music Festivals as well as receiving “Superior” ratings there and at local and State Music Festivals.

SHOW CHOIRS

Evolution | National Competing Show Choir

EVOLUTION, the mixed high school show choir, is now in its sixth year and consists of 50 singer-dancers, 13 band members, and six tech crew students.  Being the only competitive show choir in Utah makes preparing for show choir events more difficult because of the lack of interstate invitationals. Each year Evolution competes in two or three competitions.

INPULSE, the mixed junior high school show choir, consists of 50 singer-dancers.  They perform locally and compete in one music festival in the spring.

TYROS, the mixed elementary show choir, consists of 50 singer-dancers.  They perform locally and do not compete.  As you might guess, Tyros is a crowd favorite.
